If McCain had been elected would the the US auto industry be gone?

I'm amazed at the people who feel that if McCain, a man who admitted that the economy was not his strong suit, along with Palin, a woman who couldn't handle the small populated state of Alaska...would have done a better job of fixing the nation that President Obama. Simple amazing.
